My story
My own journey of seeking to heal my pain guided me to ashrams, meditation centers, Twelve Step meetings, as well as studying various trauma treatment modalities for my own healing: Yoga, Qigong, Taoism, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Embodiment, Internal Family Systems, s and Polyvagal Theory.
My journey taught me that trauma is more than the intergenerational cycles of addiction, domestic violence, and insecure attachment. It is the loss of ability to grieve – as a survival strategy. The familial and communal bandwidth (window of tolerance) diminishes with chronic trauma and persistent lack of resourcing.
Therefore I prioritise a combination of mind and body practices into the way l work with clients. Embodiment practices, such as yoga and meditation, which not only offers a sense of physical well-being but also enhance emotional resilience and cognitive clarity.
